Amen, brother! In fruitlessly casting about for a decent local lab to work with some years back, I was told "sure, we can do that. Our Howtek scans in CMYK. I can change the mode to RGB in Photoshop for you." I ran.

Thanks for the input !

I was offline for a week (moving) so thus I didn't respond right away.

I will be sending the publishers a link to this thread....and let the actual scanning people read what has been posted and hopefully get better results.
