Why are the dng's coming out almost twice as large as the CR2's?

Never seen this or noticed before.

JUst did shoot on Canon 5D2. The CR2s are about 14-15mb, yet the DNGs, after conversion are 26-27mb.

What going on? If memory servers they are supposed to get smaller not huge.

Visit COLORRIGHT to get the colors right in your digital slr, point & shoot, video camera and iPhone or iPod Touch.

Sure you didn’t embed the proprietary raw IN the DNG? That is an option and the DNG will be much bigger. Check your preferences.

Must get in to this DNG business. See what benefits there are. Interesting.

In addition, one can embed one (or more) DNG Profiles.

LR4 beta has also introduced a number of new DNG features including a fast load option which is a big deal and for a niche market, lossly DNG.
