| Re: Canon 1D MKIII Autofocus- Interactive Review Well after I installed the latest firmware it solved the issue pretty much, I was having with my 100-400 in low light or my 500 F4.5 w/ 1.4x extender in low light. It was sent into Canon a few weeks back and when I got it back about a week later (even here in Alaska) it was working great. No focusing issues at all, not even on moving moose at low light, or a flying Eagle just before sunset. My buddy got a Blue Dot one right before Xmas and has had no issues what so ever.
Its a great camera. I actually prefer my 1dM3 over my new 1dsM3. And I like it a lot better than my buddies D3, esp at low light, as my iso setting seems to be more accurate than his is..
If you are looking to get it, I would say Go for it. My problem with Rob G. was that when he first had the problem with his cameras, he REFUSED to send the cameras to Canon or let Canon come see the the problems he was having.. Why would he do that if there was not some other motive to his actions..... After that I have lost a lot of respect for his opinion. To me it does not hold any weight...
