Stamp/Ink for back of prints?

I want to stamp my name/logo and © on the back of prints I sell. I can easily get a stamp made at Staples, etc, but is that 'print safe' or archival or what have you? I don't want it rubbing off on other prints or bleeding thru to the face of the print.

TIA

Chris, I just saw this on Fred Miranda, no experience myself

No time for stickers, unless you only sell the few errant portraits.

Try, Superior Rubber Stamp and Seal out of Kansas-----encore 2 ink made for the back of photo paper.

Re: Stamp/Ink for back of prints?

We checked on this with Henry Wilhelm. He pointed out that when his "Permanence and Care" book was published there were fewer substrates. Pencil would still be a safe option. But unfortunately it could also be easily erased. However, if you do use an ink pad you might want to press the stamp on the pad followed by stamping copy paper a couple of times until the stamp is no longer black in color but rather gray. This would allow for less chance of damage caused by density of ink. Checking Light Impressions website resulted in no viable options. Drew did, however, suggest that you could stamp a print's border, away from the image, and this could suffice. Should anyone run across a product that meets all requirements it will be of great interest.

Re: Stamp/Ink for back of prints?

Thanks, I'm still investigating my options. I'm very busy of late with seniors and i have this big flaw - I like it when pretty girls look at me, and as long as I'm holding the camera they keep looking. I shot ONE senior today for 5 1/2 hours. It was fun, but it's no way to run a business!

Anyway, what do labs that inkjet onto prints use? I've not seen that fade through the front of a print. Unfortunately my labs won't custom inkjet my info onto the prints.
