Re: Low usage printer recommendation

Kris,

All I've ever used in the all-in-one's are Dells. I currently have the 1600n and love it. Granted it's outta your price range but there is another one that is closer. Check out Dells site.

Re: Low usage printer recommendation

For what it's worth, I have an old HP IIIP laser printer, which I've had to have serviced once in the past twenty years, and only then because some Avery stick'ems got loose in it. It mostly sits, but when I need it, it works and puts out usable B&W documents. So I think you're on the right track with a laser for this service.

I also have three Epson inkjets which are relatively trouble free, also infrequently used, and so far only one time I had to do nozzle cleaning with the R2400. But, of course, each time they start up, they go through auto nozzle priming routines, so maybe that's why.

That's right Dennis, those LaserJets are built like tanks and are likely to outlast future printer driver support in some yet unnamed version of Windoze. I've had a LaserJet IV since 1991 and I'm now on my third toner cartridge after going through untold reams of office paper. The cost of printing with them is ridiculously cheap. And people give them away these days on Craigslist!
