| Re: Canon Prograf LUCIA inkset anyone? Albert, what country are you in?
One of the problems that I see with your request is that you want to supply the paper. Unless whoever is doing the test printing for you has a custom profile for that paper, it's quite likely that the results wouldn't show off the full potential of the printer.
In my own case (so far) I've only managed to obtain one paper for which I have the correct profile and I'm thrilled with the results. For other excellent papers I've tried the results are very good indeed, but the colors are not as accurate as I would like as I don't have the right profiles for them. It looks like I'm going to have to invest in custom profiles.
Having said that, I'm really thrilled with the printer so far (it's an iPF6100 24" that I have). The fact that gloss and matte black inks stay in the printer all the time and there is no "flushing" required that wastes ink is a real plus. And even on glossy paper, there is no "bronzing". These are the best results I've ever seen from an inkjet printer.
I've printed a TON of stuff, really, and other than for one color, I'm still on the starter ink set. I'm amazed and thrilled at how little ink is actually used. The starter inks are only 90ml and the "real" ones are 130ml. Someone suggested to me that most of those starter inks would be used up just in filling the lines and making a few initial test prints, but it's absolutely amazing to me how much I've printed and how little ink has been used.
In spite of some frustrations I've been having (locating genuine Canon media in Canada and the lack of icc profiles for the media I have located) I absolutely love the printer and wouldn't trade it for anything.
Cheers!
Eldor (in Montreal, Canada)
