Re: Need help choosing a paper cutter

I see the RCM18 mastercut model for about $275. B&H has a similar model, "monorail" also 18", also by rotatrim for $185.

What is the difference? Looks like B&H took the description of the better one word for word off the Bogen site.

Is there much advantage to the 24" over the 18"? Yeah, I know when you need those 6" you need them, but I have yet to sell anthing over 11x14 and bigger would be matted and framed to hide any gnawed edges anyway. Cost isn't my concern as much as just physically dealing with a larger cutter (since my home studio is sooo small I have to go outside to change my aperture- rimshot please )

24" is handy if you use 17" x 22" sheets in your printer. As for the monorail, I have no experience with it but would imagine the double rail adds some rigidity to the roller.
