Re: Canon iPF5000 discount clearance

The iPF5000 has been replaced with the iPF5100, so if you can still find the 5000 for sale you should be able to get a really good deal.

The 5100 has reformulated black inks to reduce bronzing on glossy papers, a revamped print controller to reduce grain. It also has the roll feeder built in (an option on the 5000) and comes with a built in calibrator to insure color consistency between prints.

Folks might also want to check the iPF5000 etc. wiki before deciding to buy on price alone. canonipf5000.wikispaces.com

I love my iPF5000 and the profiles that
Hawk Mountain Papers supplies for their papers are right on. I also have one of the ones where the wheels came off. A known defect with a clip in the roll paper feeder falling off so the gears in the roll feeder fell off. It took over a week to get the service technician on-site to get it fixed.

Re: Canon iPF5000 discount clearance

The main difference with the 5000 and 5100 is the black ink was reformulated to not scuff as much, as well as the 5100 has a calibration device to ensure your profiles stay on target. As well as a number of bug fixes. But price is a factor.
