binding your own prints into a book

Looking for some suggestions. I would like to bind a series of my prints into a small book. I am hoping to find a book-binding system that lets me bind my own prints (on my own paper), as opposed to a service that prints and binds (such as Asuka Books or Zookbinders). My goal is to make some special one-off books, whether saddle-stitched or bound into a hardcover.

I know about Moab's Chinle system, which looks like a possibility. Anyone have any other ideas?

Dan

Dan,

Not that this helps much....but check with any local colleges to see if they offer a bookbinding class. That is how I learned to sew my own. The best tools I have are bees wax, binding thread, a paper drill, book board and lotsa glue. Good luck.

Re: binding your own prints into a book

Dan--

What do you print on? An Epson? I'm assuming that because you mentioned the Moab book...

Anyway, a really good alternative is White Glove First Edition books. You print on your Epson, they spray (for UV and to fix the print) and bind. Great, eh?

I saw their improved stuff at WPPI this year. Perfect, I think, for portfolios.

Thanks guys for your advice.

Jason - that's a good idea. I'll check out some schools.

Jaime - thanks for the link. I heard about White Glove, but their website is so vague about their product, I hadn't considered them. I'll check them out.
