HEAD CLOGGING EPSON DURABRITE OR ULTRACHROME

I had to junk my Epson C84, because tech support said the head was clogged only after 1 1/2 years, use it fairly often, once a week, mostly with B&W, and every other month, color. I know know I need to run a color chart maybe as much as once a week, or 2x times a month..Do you guys using ultrachrome ink have less clogging than me? I will be in the market next year when I can afford the Epson Big Mamma, but now I have to be satisfied with the C86 model. BTW, does a fine job in printing on durabrite paper.
Any suggestions??
Regards,
Millard

Re: HEAD CLOGGING EPSON DURABRITE OR ULTRACHROME

I have periodic clogs but the nornmally clrear up with 1-2 cleanings. This past weekend I had a clog in 2 colors did a cleaning then had problems with 3 colors. The status monitor showed plenty of ink but I finally replaced the 3 colors and everything was fine. This was an R300 (dye based) but I also run C80 & R800 with minimal problems in fact I don't think I have had a clog yet on the R800 although it is used for full color several times a week.
