| Question about various CIS systems It looks like I’m going to have to replace my Epson 870 work horse. I have used this printer for 3 years with a CIS (one of the early NoMoreCarts ones) and have had great results and no problems. But now the heads are going and it’s going to be cheaper to replace (with a refurbished 1270) than to repair.
The only question in my mind is what to do about the CIS. My present CIS (which is the same as those sold by Mwords and Lyson) needs modifying to work on the 1270. This would cost me about £100 (that’s approx half of the cost of a complete kit). Alternatively, I could buy a new CIS from a different source. Here in the UK I have found two other versions of the CIS. I’m wondering if anyone has had any experience with either one. The first is a CIS called SinoPIS, which appears to be available throughout the world and costs £90. The other CIS (which is manufactured by TM Technology Co. Ltd. in China) is sold by grumfuttock.com in Scotland, has a 3 year warranty and costs just £55! Both these kits are spongeless, look much neater than my current kit and appear to be even easier to top up.
So if there’s anyone out there with experience of either of these CIS’s please let me know what you think.
Thanks,
