I'm in the market for a smaller personal laser printer. It will be used mainly for printing camera ready art, seperations, and proofing cmyk stuff. I have a canon colorpass Z40 and an HP 5000n laserjet at my disposal for another month but then I'll be needing my own printer(s), when printing straight black, i.e.. 0,0,0,100 on the HP 5000 its plenty sharp but often large patches dont fuse well. On the canon, straight black often prints a little fuzzy, but process blacks looks awesome.

So my question to 8200 users is will a solid black print, with text and line art print sharp enough for camera ready? Or would you go for a black only laser? Or maybe you have a better idea all together?
