I was shocked to discover that one cannot uninstall CS4 without also uninstalling Bridge from CS4.
Of course you can. Don't use the uninstaller, just trash the Photoshop CS4 folder. Yes, some support files and preferences will remain, but they won't harm you.
Jerry, why not?
Bridge just browses the images, they open up into CS3 just fine.
Bridge is tightly integrated with Photoshop and share several features such as Camera Raw and Image Editor that are version specific. Photoshop CS3 does not support the latest version of Camera Raw (5.3).
Johan,
thank you! what didn't I think of that. I'm so by the book.
Then once that's done, CS4, should never pop up again, correct?
Do you know why I getting this when I open CS3, and will it go away?
"Application is not where originally installed, please repair"
I get that even though I never moved CS3 -- to my knowledge.

Jerry,
Interesting, thanks! I was thinking what could he be talking about?
But in fact yes, Raws open with camera Raw 5 in CS4.
So maybe I will just keep CS4 for camera Raw, and then use CS3 for editing.
But I was also able to right click on a Raw file in Bridge and launch Camera raw 4.5 from CS 3. Camera Raw 5 has some cool new features, actually nicer than any new features in CS4 proper, but I could live without them if I had to. Is there a way to designate camera CS3 as default to open Bridge files? I doubt it as I changed preferences in BRide to CS3 and they still open with CS4. Hmmmmm. Let me know what think, doable?
Also, same question, it's happening even with CS4, I get "app has changed locations, repair, and then have to do silly repair, and put in OS password? how get rid of that? thanks!
