Re: CS4: super slow? what's going on?

Jerry, that's so pathetic and infuriating -- nothing against you

Re: CS4: super slow? what's going on?

Kevin,

It is time to upgrade your hardware. The Power PC processor is not going to be supported very much longer. The next version of the Mac OS will not fully support that processor. Your current experience will be just the beginning of more frustration to come in the future if you do not upgrade. These machines are built to be obsolete in 3-4 years. There is no truly upgradable machine, it would put the hardware vendors out of business.

Your current Mac OS (Tiger) is already one version behind the times and memory requirements for programs and operating systems are double what they were just 4 years ago.

The hardware and software we work with is an integral part of photography today. It is as important as the cameras and lenses we work with. Keeping current is a necessary part of doing business.

Jerry

Re: CS4: super slow? what's going on?

Jerry, I have Leopard on my macbook. It does not impress me the least. The same for CS4.

Re: CS4: super slow? what's going on?

PS, what I'm saying Jerry is that I was very happy not to upgrade to Leopard on the G5. the resulting torture with scanners and periphials and software -- so glad not to endure that for a pass. EVerything else I use is fine -- office, internet, everything. CS4 is first wall, but I don't care for CS4 anyway, so I'm ok for now
