{datesort} vs creation time vs capture time

First off, FANTASTIC program - have used it w/o issues since January...can't wait until 4.4 is released!

However, I just noticed a setting within the preferences section, under the files tab, that gives a user the option to 'update creation time of photos with capture time during copy or ingest'. How will checking (or unchecking) this option affect my 'time stamp' or any other identifier field associated with the photo?

Typically, I rename all photos during the ingest with {datesort}-{filename} which allows me to better sort/file my photos by date taken, while preseving the original designation given by the camera. Even though days may elapse before I actually ingest the disks, I assume the {datesort} field will still properly rename the photo with the date the photo was taken.

Will checking the box for 'updating creation time....' affect the actual date the photo was taken?

Thanks in advance!
