Creating a simple Watermark in PS

Hello All, this is my first post on this forum, I had worked in the industry years ago before digital, I finally started working with Digital aprox. a year ago, so I still have a lot to learn. My question is, how can I make a simple watermark that can be easily applied to all my client images that run through Photoshop, or however this is normally done.

Thanks Bob

There are a ton of tutorials on the web. The method I like is here.

Create a new document.
Add a text layer with your watermark.
Delete the background layer and save the file.

Now you can copy and paste it into any image and position it as desired.

If your watermark is an image, rather than text, just paste it into any image and reduce the opacity of its layer as desired.

Bob,

Adding a watermark is quite tricky because you must balance between protection and destruction of the photo. The watermark should be enough to protect you against copying but not destroy the look of your picture.

The idea is to set the watermark at the right level so that it is very subtle but still visible. This is done by trial and error. You can do that with Ken's method.

See my implementation here: http://www.julesgobeil.com/slideshow-en.htm?
Just an example, not a suggestion.

Good luck
Jules

Hey,
This is one easy and simple way to creat water marks, for just about every picture you plan on posting to a web site. Thanks for posting the link. I found it intuitive to follow the instructions and was proud of the results in the end, after applying the techniques suggested, by Mr. Flesher.
