Does Photo Mechanic support IPTC4XMP ?

Hi,

Can Photo Mechanic read/write XMP for IPTC? I did a search and could only find references to XMP sidecar files. What I'm interested in is if PM is writing XMP when I annotate, and if so how it handles any IIM metadata already embedded in images.

Photo Mechanic can write XMP files from the IPTC Info dialog and the IPTC Stationery Pad dialog. It does not modify or read XMP packets stored within JPEGs or other file formats currently. It currently ignores any XMP data contained within files. This will be changed in a future version of PM. We will be giving you settings for choosing how you want to handle your caption data (IPTC record or XMP) and what to do when a file has both an XMP packet and an IPTC record.
