Ingesting progress bar

When I am ingesting a CF card with the contact sheet open the ingest progress bar is hidden behind the contact sheet. Is there any way to keep the progress bar visible or is there any indicator on the contact sheet when the CF card is finished ingesting?

Re: Ingesting progress bar

OK, then if you use the minimize button in the Ingest progress window's title bar, then it will move to the dock. While in the dock, it will show its progress. You can always get to the various Ingest progress windows via the Windows menu.

But no, there is no way to make it float above all other windows as that would likely upset more people than it would make them happy.

You can set its size and position and it will be remembered and restored. So maybe put it off to one side of your contact sheet windows so you can monitor its progress, or use the minimize to dock trick.

HTH,

-Kirk

Re: Ingesting progress bar

Ah ha! Another post which reminds me of something I've been meaning to suggest.

I'd love it if there was a preference to make the Ingest progress bar pop back to the top of the contact sheet (reclaim focus) whenever it finishes the Ingest. This would keep me from having to check on it's progress every 30 seconds or so and focus on editing. As soon as the Ingest was done I would be alerted and could start Ingesting another card which could save valuable time on tight deadlines.

What do ya think?

That sounds like a great idea. I'll look into it.

Re: Ingesting progress bar

Maybe a "beep" when done so you know when it is time to change the card.

My workaround in the mean time is just to command-~(tilda on the Mac) to bring the progress bar to the front if I'm off doing something else.

Thanks for keeping PM the best!
