Re: Help call, for Photoshop freaks

Do you have the Gamut Warning enabled? This would show you if there are areas in the RGB file that are beyond what will translate properly without altering your image appearance. Oversaturation would be the first culprit here in sky areas.

Re: Help call, for Photoshop freaks

Thanks to all responded, but I've tried various things, including channel mixer, curves, selective color, etc...all that by separate channels.
My monitor is hardware-calibrated (Monaco Sensor), and Gammut Warning under printer's profile doesn't reveal out of gammut colors at all.

Still having troubles to obtain the clear blue skyes as appearing on original. :-(

Re: Help call, for Photoshop freaks

Alex,

Gamut warning will only show if the profile being used is selected in one of the PS color settings boxes(RGB /CMYK).

I cannot fathom what you are doing wrong-- I work every day with tropical blue sky in Digital files RGB>RGB/RGB>CMYK and they match virtually perfectly. Maybe you should get a copy of say Bruce Frasers Color Mgnt book or download some Tutorials and reassess your PS techniques with regards to this ?

Good Luck,

Re: Help call, for Photoshop freaks

Thanks Des, with no relation to my "sky" issue, I'm going to order this book next month, just to crasp my color management understanding.
Now back to my issue: obviously, I check Gammut Warning when the printer's profile is selected, and on soem other few images it indeed pointed to a gammut clipping in reds for given profile. However in this image, the sky isn't appearing to be out of gammut for this profile.

To bad I have no one in my proximity who would evaluate and hint me the way to proceed to get it back.. :-(
