Help me open 65mb + files

I usually work with raw files from my D1X but have just bought a Hasselblad H1D 22mp which produces files of around 65mb (8 bit).
CS keeps telling me I can not open the file because "there is not enough memory (Ram)" even though I have 1GB Ram on my PC and have no problems opening the same files in other browsers.

I have set CS to read Cache levels 8 and 80% max to be used by Photoshop. (Available Ram =932mb)

I am sure there is a simple explanation on what to do to correct this problem but its the end of a long hot day and I'm tired!

Can anyone help please?

Re: Help me open 65mb + files

try to put the slider down instead of up, for example 50 %. sometimes this works and then try agian to set the slider as high as possible. If you have 1 gb of RAM the system needs its own amount and with 932 for photoshop there is only about 70 for your system (MacOsX? ). I have my cache at standard 4 and this works fine.
If this helps you might consider to buy more RAM, prices are fair and low. Keep in mind that any application can't use more than 2 gb RAM due to the current 32 bit Operation Systems. So if you have say about 2,5 gb RAM you then can put the CS RAM slider to 100 % and have enough left for your system.
Also a seperate scratchdisk will help increase speed. I'm converting 1Ds2 at 16 bit (about 90 Mb) without problem, even several images at one time, using Apple G5dp2.

Omke

Like Omke sayd.
Set the Ps used Ram to 50%. Cach to 4. If this does not help Delete the preferences.

Also do this"
1) Do a search for *.tmp files on your system. Delete the results.
2) Do a search for *.dmp files on your system. Delete the results.

Then do a disk clean up and defracment the drive.

Re: Help me open 65mb + files

Thanks for the help guys but it still would not work. I fixed the problem though - I bought a G5 2.5 and even with only 512mb ram it still works well. (I have another 2gb ram on the way)
