PM 4.3: Edit .CR2 with DPP 1.5

Has anyone set up PM 4.3 to work with Canon DPP 1.5? I noticed there are several executable files in the DPP folder (one for the app, one for the editor, and I forget the others). I tried to alter the edit with property for CR2 files but it only opens DPP and not the image.

Does anyone know which executable I need to tell PM to use for editing of CR2 raw files?

Thank you!

-Anthony

Re: PM 4.3: Edit .CR2 with DPP 1.5

I see that no one has responded to this question. I hadn't responded until now since I have never used Canon's DPP software before.

Since you tried setting DPP as an editor for CR2 files and it just opened and basically sat there without opening the file indicates to me that they do not support opening files via command line. This is our default method of launching files.

What happens if you drag and drop a CR2 onto DPP? Will it open it? If so, I could make the next version of PM simulate a drag and drop of your files onto DPP. We currently do this for Adobe's software.

Thanks,

-Kirk

After dragging a CR2 file onto DPP, it only opened the program and selected the last folder that I was working in (not even the one where the file was located). It completely ignored the file it was given. Oh well.

I appreciate your reply!

Bummer. If it is any consolation, I hear that Capture 1 also just opens the folder containing the image.

I do know that Adobe Camera RAW will work properly, and I think Photoshop Elements 3 works properly too and is much cheaper than buying a full version of Photoshop though I do not know if it provides the same level of quality as ACR in Photoshop.

I'm sorry it couldn't be better news.

Anthony, I set PM 4.3.1 preferences for DPP as well and it didn't work for me so I selected EVU and it does work. Mike
