PM 4.3 zoom tool inconsistency

The zoom tool works differently with my Nikon D70 NEF files compared to my Nikon D100 and D1X NEF raw files.

I CAN zoom to 100% displaying D70 NEF files using the zoom tool.

I CANNOT zoom to 100% displaying D100 and D1X NEF files. When I click on the 100% zoom button the files are displayed
approximately 70-75% smaller (but no diagonal jaggies) than the default fit in view (with diagonal jaggies) display. Is this a bug?

With D70 NEF files, the files names reappear in red when I open the preview window and then change back to black one by one.
I assume the program is caching the files for the zoom display. This change in color doesn't happen with my D100 and D1X
NEF files (not caching the files?)

I was going nuts trying to figure out how the zoom tool works with this functional inconsistency until I discovered its operation
depended on the camera used.
MAC 10.7
Please help. do I have a preference setting wrong?

No, this is not a bug. D100 and D1X NEF files have low resolution previews embedded in them. Since we do not render RAW files yet, we use this built-in preview for thumbnail display and for preview display. The D70 has very high resolution embedded previews and thus looks much better.

You are not missing any setting, nor is this a bug. It's just the best we can do with what is available in those older cameras. JPEGs from those same cameras should look really good.

It's very easy to have big previews for d1x and d100 nef's, go to the Nikon View 6 folder and drop your files or a folder full of nef's on NPrevCreator3 and voilà, d1x nef with big previews.... [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

Worked like a charm. Made an alias of NPrevCreator3 in the Dock, Mac OS 10.3.7, dragged the folder with NEF files over the

alias and voila, D1X (andD100) files with big previews.

I only shoot NEF format. PM 4.3 is by FAR!! the fastest program I have used to view a 100% NEF file.
