Page Setup

At my work we print things out on our black and white lazer printer with a fairly standard setting of 70% of the image, file name, border size of .5, captions included, and a screen of 85 and 105 round dots.

Does anyone know of anyway I can make all of this information into an action so I don't have to continue setting these settings each time I print a photograph?

We are still using adobe 5.5.

Thanks all,
scott

Re: Page Setup

Scott, think of an action as a tape recorder. You go to actions>new, press record and go thru the regular process for a single file. At the end of it, you push stop, and save and name the action. Now the action can be used on another image. If you include the open sequence and the save sequence in the action you can do batches of files from a folder.

Now the big question. Will PS 5.5 do this? I really do not remember, it has been years since I ran 5.5. PS 6.01 will for sure and 7.0 has more features on actions and droplets. Sorry I could not even find a copy of 5.5 to test it on.

Re: Page Setup

I'm using PS 6.01, so I'm not sure this is going to help. But there is a menu option under "Print options..."

What I've been able to do is configure the settings in that dialogue as I want them, before selecting "Ok" I select "Print". In the print dialogue box, I have the option to save the settings (a botton at the bottom lefthand corner).

I hope that helps.
