Re: Anyone using Fotostation PRO

Hallo Pano,
I am just beginning to test this program, and I like it already, but I didn't experience any crashes yet. What do you call a great amount. I handle hundreds of pictures from a microdrive at a moment, no problems. Maybe you should increase the memory for the program. It sometimes happens that the program does not, what I want, for example, after choosing 20 pics for turning, it only does a few of them. But the rest is great, especially the offline archive function.

Can't comment on the Mac version but Windows XP is handling folders with 4,500+ images OK. Brochure says it handles up to 10,000 images per folder.

FotoStation can be fussy and not like one image in the folder and then crash. You may find the renogade image through trial and error. Check you have a recent build. For example I found tifs made in Bibble v2 would crash early builds of FotoStation 4.5.

Or maybe if you have 10,000's of files you need their Index Manager add-on, but at about US $4000 it's expensive and I think it only runs on Windows 2000 Server.

Hi Pano,

On the mac you have to set the memory of the program to about 125-150 Mb. Else it will crash with a lot of pictures.
Another thing if you are stand alone, disable the local thumbnail cache in the view alias properties (Ctrl-click on the folders on the left side window). It makes the program much faster.
