Stilts

Was with some friends last night who had a man in to plaster the ceiling of their living room and he used stilts rather than two ladders and a plank.

What a great idea for the photojournalist who'd like to get a bit above the crowd.

Maybe a bizarre idea.........or maybe the gadget marketing opportunity of 2006.

Ponder.

Better than young Edmond's little ladders. Yes/no ?

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and forget about the nutters the motherland sometimes produces.

Tony

Re: Stilts

HI Tony:- have you ever walked on a pair of them?
They are a great idea but, even after you are used to them you can easily be knocked off balance.
All it takes is a little nudge and you are on your butt.

BUT - still they would give you a whole new perspective.

Cheers
Chris

Re: Stilts

I spent a summer working for a drywalling company, and those guys can really book on stilts. The tapers used to go up and down stairs all the time, and I never saw one fall over. The bottoms are articulated with the feet and have spring dampeners, so you can litterly walk around on them. The other thing is that you can really move fast on them, as your strides are 6 feet long. You can get stilts are most commercial paint stores, but they ain't cheep, and take a lot of skill to use.

Re: Stilts

I've seen some guys really move around on those stilts, put me on them, breathe on me and I'd be down like now!

Re: Stilts

Im working on the marketing angle:
"With stilts, everyone is a giant amongst photogs."

True, this could be a new Bogen product: Manfrotto Photo-Stilts! Yes, the Pro Carbon Fiber Stilts are $899 ;-)
