Leica Announces New Products/Bibble 5/Color Management/SNL/Ebay/Warrior's Eye
With Photokina one week away we’re seeing the last of the announcements as we head to Cologne, Germany. Leica made new announcements. There was the Noctilux-M 50mm f/0.95 ASPH lens along with a new revision of their digital rangefinder bringing it up to an M8.2. Sadly, there is no full-frame model at this time. This means that those who faithfully used the 21mm Elmarit still cannot get the “wide” look without going to the Tri-Elmar-M which has three focal lengths and is only as fast as f/4. Of course, based upon early price rates from the United Kingdom the body alone will sell in the vicinity of $7000 U.S. dollars for a 10.3-megapixel sensor.

Tiny Fey portrayed Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin while Amy Poehler reenacted Hillary Clinton. What caught our eye was that “Palin” asked that people quit Photoshopping her head onto other people’s bodies. And, a photographer would know what Photoshopping is all about.
Bibble Labs has announced Bibble 5 workflow software. This is the 8th year for this product. Where did all the time go? Improvements have been made in the areas of Raw conversion and workflow. It will be shown at Photokina but won’t begin shipping until Q4 for $200.

Interestingly, Amazon, for the first time, has begun outperforming eBay, at least for us. An article in The Inquirer describes an overview of this.
