Leica, Leica, and a Worldwide PhotoWalk
A post at Leica User Forum mentioned that there was a rumor floating around that Leica is considering rebranding Canon DSLRs under the Leica Moniker. Imaging Insider received an e-mail Monday, August 18, 2008 from an unconfimred source claiming to be an employee of Leica USA. This individual claimed that no one believed it at first but that it is true. The link to the original post is included below. However, at this time there's not much more to add.

Also, on the Leica front it's being mentioned that M8 owners are selling their cameras. This wouldn't surprise us in lieu of Leica profits having dropped an amazing 38% in Q2. As longtime Leica M-camera users this is truly disappointing and does not paint a pretty picture, so to speak.

Sasturday, August 23, 2008, is the day for Scott Kelby's Worldwide Photowalk for his "Lightroom 2 Book for Digital Photographers." Over 6,500 shooters have signed up to participate in this event. What we really like about it more than anything is the comradery being shared among people with a similar vision. Check to see if your city is active in this event.
