Adobe grows by 260% in Russia

According to Adobe first year operation results Russia has been called one of the most priority countries. By QIII FY 2007Adobe sales in Russia grew by 260%. The company’s local Representation Office has got its development plan.

The company Adobe has announced its results of being present in the Russian market for a year. Adobe most demanded product is currently Creative Suite 3, then goes Adobe Photoshop and Acrobat. Pavel Cherkashin, Head of the company’s Representation Office in Russia, states product packages are in greater demand than separate programs.
By Q III FY 2007 Adobe product sales in Russia grew by 260%, while the company’s similar index worldwide grew by about 40%. Adobe does not announce the absolute sales index, as well as the Russian stake in the total sales volume.
Mr. Chrkashin tells Russia, CIS and Eastern Europe States are the company’s priority markets. As Adobe main sales are focused on Moscow, the company plans to actively expand into the Russian regions. As for CIS, Adobe is to pay attention, first of all, to Ukraine and Kazakhstan. The company’s products are being currently localized (Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Reader and Creative Suite Russian versions have already been prepared), Ukrainian localization has already started (Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator versions in Ukrainian have been issued). The company plans to issue its other key products in the mentioned languages.
The other fact proving that Russia is one of the most priority markets for Adobe is that the company’s Representation Office in Russia has expanded from 1 to 6 employees, and the company plans the office to further expand (about 30 employees is to work for the company in 2009 in Russia). The Russian Representation Office has even got its development plan. The main tasks for 2008-2010 is the active fighting with piracy, including cooperation with BSA, and some other additional measure, which are to reduce the pirated products under the company’s brand by about 70% (at present the pirated product index is about 84%), according to Adobe plans.
