Power Flash

Over at a friend's house shooting kids on their trampoline. Interesting cause it's January in Colorado. Would be warmer but wind is blowing like crazy.

Got a little goofy playing around with my flash. Like this shot cause of their expressions, and the gust of wind that blew her hair up just as the flash fired. A little grunge effect (one of my first attempts).

Does it work???

Re: Power Flash

It works. Very unique portrait. It's a shame you didn't have it ready in time for the photo contest.

I especially like how their heads/faces are shaped the same. The soccer ball in the grass is a nice little touch too.

Re: Power Flash

Are you asking what Gunge Effect is or whether the photo has it?

See: Abstract Grunge Effect or Google

IMHO grunge effect is used by many photographers to add a 'dirty' background noise to the image. Not supposed to take away from it, just add noise to areas that usually are of less interest in the image.

The sample is not a true grunge effect, but then again, art is a matter of taste (or sometimes lack thereof). JB Sallee is one of the Grunge Masters. He'd love to sell you a CD with lots of dirty backgrounds & PS actions. Actually, I'd love to sell you the one I bought from him, I'm on wagon and no longer grunge. I have to sell it at a fair price or JB will inflict me with bad Karma.
