New Photo Contest?

I want to apologize for not keeping up the Photo Contest the past two months. I just bought my first house here in Amsterdam, NY and have been preoccupied with everything that goes with the purchase and subsequent move. It is a 140 year old restoration with 2400 square feet of space. I have been busy setting up an office and photography studio.

Now that I am settled in, I would like to propose a Photo Contest for April. I am looking for some ideas from our membership. I will prepare a list of the suggestions received and utilize the suggested topics for the remainder of 2009.

Please submit your suggestions for topics by replying to this thread.

Haven't we got a bunch of unused topics left over from the last time we did this?

We actually exhausted the list in order of preference. We did not use the entire alphabet of letters or the entire gamut of colors as topics.

I am anxious to see if we want to continue with the Photo Contest and if so, what the members want as themes. I would also like to get some feedback about whether we should stick to theme based contests every month, every other month or just have an open themed contest.

Have we done Spring? Don't remember it.

(Then again, a lot of things I don't remember).

Spring is a topic we have not covered, but we have to keep in mind the fact that it is regional. Here in the NorthEast we won't see any signs of Spring for another month.

Well, if you wanted to cover both hemispheres, you'd need to run it 6 months.

How about you guys take your spring shots now and run the 'Spring' contest in September when we get ours?
