New Photo Contest?

Thank you for your suggestions. They are both thoughtful and keeping within a guideline that will permit maximum participation.

I do apologize for being so defensive. From running the Photo Contest, I have learned that the participants can be very territorial. I have received complaints in the past ranging from the hour the contest ends to the chosen themes. I do try to accommodate all of our members and realize that the forum is represented globally.

I would like to believe that the purpose of the Photo Contest is to learn about photographic technique and vision, but without interest and participation from our members none of that can be realized.

Jerry - Glad you got things in order with the house, and I'm sure you are glad that's behind you now. A restored house that age is probably a very interesting subject itself. Maybe you can show us some pics when you get a chance.

I've been busy myself and had not logged on for a few weeks, but this thread has provided an interesting discussion with many valid points. What I would like to see are topis that allow a lot of people to participate. I think the contests should be about each of us challenging ourselves, and sometimes that means stepping out and trying something we may not have much experience with.

Whatever the topic... Let's do it!

I have settled in thank you. This thread was not getting much interest. With only four people responding I was not sure the membership wanted to continue with the photo contest.

Since we are well into April, I will begin the contest on May 1st with a Spring theme.

Please look for a separate thread announcing the contest opening.
