This highly detailed image of Earth's natural satellite is a stitched mosaic composite of more than 10 images taken with my prior body, a Canon EOS-20D, through my Meade LX200 telescope at 5000mm f/20. The Canon captured such wonderfully accurate and noise-free image data that I was able to "hypersaturate" the moon's natural colors to highlight the different materials in the surface.

There was a tie in the November 2008 Photo Contest with #4 and #9 each receiving 6 votes.

Vote for either #4 or #9 to determine a winner. Voting period will be open for 5 days.
