Red face May 2008 Photo Contest - Voting Now Open!

The theme for the May 2008 Photo Contest is "Birds".

The winner receives his/her choice of The COLORRIGHT white balance tool, a Lifetime Membership or 1000 Reputation Points.

Please just upload photos with any personal comments to the gallery. Please do not reply with comments on the images until the contest is closed.

Submissions will be open for Two Weeks starting today (ending 5/23/08 @5:15PM GMT-4). All registered full members may participate.

After submissions are complete, a poll will be added to the thread. All members may vote for their favorite image. Voting will stay open for 1 WEEK.

Please only post one image per contest per month. Existing winners may continue to post each month. In the event of a tie there will be a runoff vote to determine the winner.

Images may include Photoshop work.

For jpeg attachments max size is approximately 200k. Max Width and Height are 800 pixels. However, I do believe it will resize the image automatically if it falls outside of the width and height range.

Another cemetery image from Martin!!! Wooohoo!!!

Believe it or not, these are actual live ravens in an actual Baltimore, Maryland cemetery about two miles from where Edgar Allan Poe once lived and about one and a half miles from where he's buried.

Darn near the only picture of birds I've got!

The above shot was also only a few hundred feet from where Maryland's greatest photographer A. Aubrey Bodine is buried.

This vulture was either interested in the lens (135mm f/2.0) or I was being sized-up for his next meal.

Here is my entry for the May 2008 "Birds" photo contest. This Great Blue Heron image was captured at Wakodahatchee Wetlands in South Florida last month. Shot in manual mode with Canon 1D Mark IIN and Canon 100-400L IS lens at 150mm, 1/1600 sec at f8, partial metering, iso 400, hand held, in natural light (no flash).

It is at this moment you realize you're REALLY glad you're not a fish.

Captured last month at Shollenberger Park (Petaluma, California)

Canon 100-400 @ 400mm with 1.4X and 2X TCs combined, effective f13.0 (wide open), ISO 1000.

These male red-winged blackbirds are extremely camera-shy.
