I got a glimpse of this apparition from several blocks away (Chicago's Loop) and had to get nearly this close before I could figure it out ---and stop feeling creepy. (Edit: please click for larger image)

Sunset in Santorini

#11

We were booked on the ill-fated Sea Diamond, which hit a reef and sank in Santorini on April 6th, but luckily we weren't scheduled to board until 3 days after the accident. We were put on a different ship instead and still visited the islands during the 2nd week of our trip. My contest submission is this shot of some windmills at sunset in the town of Oia, in Santorini.

My first shot with a Fuji F30 converted for infrared use. Handheld, f/4 @ 1/230 sec. Prints beautifully at 13 X 19" on Velvet Fine Art, where the rich blacks really are stunning using Epson K3 matte black inks.
