| Olympus E-510 Just purchased one, and its pretty cool as a carry anywhere good quality 10mp dslr. I know one friend who is mainly a wedding photog, who has two and used them as his main cameras.
I was originally looking for "budget Leica M8" but apart from the aging Epson RD1, there is nothing out there - a huge gap in the market for a reasonably priced quality compact with low noise (the noise issue kills many compacts for me).
My dealer says the new Olypuses (410 and 510) are flying off the shelves and I can see why, as the 510 is very small, has well designed menus, built-in image stabilisation, "live view" (a novelty I don't use but fun sometimes) etc. On the downside, it has limited dynamic range (highlights easily blow and cannot be recovered even in raw - so don't overexpose!), no fast primes around 35,, equiv., and plasticky construction. Still, fun and useful, with good quality results, way better than compacts and as good as the 10mp competition.
