Olympus ORF Converted to DNG Files

I have been trying to incorporate an Olympus E-1 into my outfit. There are many things to like about the camera, but one thing that really bugged me was the size of the proprietary raw files ("ORF" files). At 10.2 MB from a 5 MP camera they seemed disproportionately large compared to Canon raw files. Last night I ran some ORF files through the Adobe DNG converter, and ended up with files between 4 MB and 5.7 MB. Most of the files were in the mid 4 range. For someone like me who shoots raw only and archives files on MAM gold CDs this helps a great deal. This may be old news to some of you, but it was good news to me. I pass it on for what it's worth. Best regards, Dan Kapsner
