On a 17" MacBook Pro, with a DCS Pro SLR/c:

PD runs great. Seems about the same speed as on a G5 2.0 DP.

Re: Camera Managera/tethered: I've never used CM/tethered before. CM seemed to install and run fine, but it couldn't find the camera as I recall. I'd sure like to know if anyone has or has not had this combination work because I'm going to wear out the CF card socket!

I installed Boot Camp & WinXP. Under WinXP, Camera Manager runs fine, finds the camera, triggers the shutter, and does everything I've asked of it. No crashes. PhotoDesk also runs fine under WinXP.

Only trouble I've had is when the MacBook falls asleep while running WinXP. It won't wake up. But that's not a CM/PD issue.
