Shoot only full res raws for best performance. Look at the Galbraith database (does it still show Kodak data??). It used to be true that Microdrives were the fastest performing cards in the Kodaks... outperforming many supposedly faster, more costly compact flash cards.

I agree, I was told to shoot full frame for faster write times, I sold my Kodak
several years ago but stlll love the old images when I open them, I still have a Proback on a hasselblad that I only use for special occasions

Re: Kodak Pro/n vs D200 - Clearing the Buffer...

I concur with previous posters here about using the SLRn. Shoot at full res RAW, anything less or else as in RAW & J-Peg slows the whole show way down!

The SLRn has it's applications, again in agreement with the earlier posters. I have used the SLRn for about 3 years now, it works and works well. Perfect, hardly but what camera is? Due to the level of resolution the SLRn is capable of we use it to shoot all the tiles and leading edges of the space shuttle to document the surface condition prior to launch. My co-workers, who were not as familiar with it as I was, were not too happy but it has slowly grown on them for this particular application.

Nikon has, fortunately, continued to offer competitve products that stand up to Canon in some areas and are no where near as good in others. Again, there will never be the "perfect" digital camera. Better to use what you can afford/justify and learn to exploit all the advantages of that particular tool.

Last shuttle landing was 20 minutes past sundown on the shortest day of the year, do you think I used my SLRn? Of course not, I borrowed a Canon 5D from a friend and shot an excellent series of images along the runway at ISO 1600. Know your tools and make the best of what you have or can get your hands on!
