Fuji S4?

I have noticed that, here in the UK, Fuji have slashed the cost of the S3 by nearly 50%, and have also started offering buffer upgrades. Could it be there is an S4 (or maybe a S3mk2) out there somewhere. The S3 is now exceptional value at below £700.

Re: Fuji S4?

Fuji is going to invest heavily in biotech and will transform into a pharmaceutical company in the next 10 years.

Re: Fuji S4?

Is this a way to sell down inventory, ahead of new product releasees or just market driven pricing ?

The Digital SLR market will gain a few more competitiors this summer, Sony, Samsung, Panasonic, These companies
all have formidable imaging technologies.

It seems Fuji would have some real insight into the performance of these new SLR Cameras.

Personally I think this is market price driven. With Nikon releasing the D200 and now selling for ~$1700 in the states, Fuji had to drop there price below that to get sales. I paid $2100 (USD) for my S3 when it first came on the market. Now they are going for $1200(grey market)/$1300(full USA version).

Re: Fuji S4?

Hey,
Forget the S4, not gonna happen. Fuji has gone straight to the S5, by passing any thoughts of producing an S4. I saw and shot with one my self today at the NY Photo Expo. It's pretty sweet at 12 mpx. Lots of improvements on the body front. It is virtually the D200 body with the Fuji sensor with a much improved DR and high ISO to 3200. Must have one! Coming to a camera store near you beginning of 2007 and starting at around $2,000.00 US.
