760 Rebooting

Okay, this is a little weird and scarey...

My 760's internal battery is pretty much dead. I've been resetting the date every time I go to shoot for a few months now. But, over the last week or so, something else has started that has me worried. During shooting, the camera restarts. Naturally, while its restarting, I can't take any shots, so this is a concern when I'm shooting aerials or other "one chance only" events.

What I'm really afraid of is that the computer in the camera is having a meltdown and I'm gonna have to change cameras. I'm not looking forward to the switch. My 760 is a great piece of equipment. So, does anyone have any words of comfort and/or solution? I'm hoping that maybe someone from Kodak will tell me this is only a few hundred dollar fix ( ).

Yeah, right..................

What happens if you run it from AC power?

It could simply be that some part of your battery system is bad (battrery, connectors, etc.).

Good point. Come to think of it, it runs perfectly (so far) when plugged in. I'll have to try it again and see what happens. Anybody from Kodak with an opinion?
