Battery problem

I inserted a Kodak battery into a 620x and got the message that this was not a Kodak battery. I suspect the battery failed. Can anyone confirm this. Have you had luck rebuilding these batteries.

Re: Battery problem

Maybe a call to Kodak tech support tomorrow can help sort out that error message. Never have seen that one before. One trick with a battery that is giving a flashing yellow light on the slant top charger is to hook up a 9 V battery to the correct polarity leads on the DCS battery and let it bring up the battery's voltage for 10-15 minutes then reinsert the battery into the charger where it should accept a charge without any blinking yellow caution light.

Have no idea if this prodedure will in any way help with the error message you are seeing. Have you tried to operate with the A/C charger hooked up as well? There is a small capacitor internal to the camera body that will cause some trouble if it is let to discharge over time. This provides the juice to the internal clock and so forth. I believe some have called it an internal battery but I think it is in fact a capacitor. Kodak can set you straight on all this though.

1-800-CD KODAK

Once answered, dial/enter "82" to be put into the camera tech support que.

Re: Battery problem

The battery has a chip in it, which has probably gone bad. The battery may not be charging correctly now.
