Problem with \"Date/Time is incorrect\" message

My Pro14n is giving me the "Date/Time is incorrect" message. I have replaced the CR2032 battery twice and have even let the camera set for up to 30 minutes with the power on but as soon as my turn it off and turn it back on, I get the error message. The funny thing is that the date/time IS correct and the camera is resetting other functions such as my CF and MM settings are back to defaults. I am running firmware 5.4.1. It sounds like the camera has a corrupted NVRAM or something...but resetting via the menu is not fixing it. Any ideas? Thanks.

Re: Problem with \"Date/Time is incorrect\" message

Jim,

I had a similar problem with my 14n 2 years ago - was very frustrating thinking all sorts of evil things were occuring. so this may or may not be your problem - From memory one of the lugs on the plastic battery holder had pushed the little brass spring contact inside the camera and it was not making contact with battery ( I think it was an assistant who removed the battery and tried to put it back in the wrong way around - I was encouraging him to play with the new toy ) - It took some fiddling but I managed to get it working. It's very fiddly but see if you work out if the button battery is actually making contact with the camera.

hth

Chris
