VR lenses with S2

Does anyone know if the Nikon 24-120 VR lens will work with a Fuji Finepix S2? I have heard that certain functions (such as VR or autofocus) may not work with certain cameras. The Nikon blurb for this lens does not mention the Finepix S2. Thanks

Re: VR lenses with S2

Worked fine with mine when I had it.

Works MUCH better if you have the CR123s in it btw.

Re: VR lenses with S2

Paul,

My 70-200VR Works well with the S2. I did have a problem of the lens not focusing (acting as if it were in manual focus). A quick power off/power on corrected it. I think it may have been a contact issue or maybe low battery issue.

Re: VR lenses with S2

I bought this glass with some reluctance several months ago and I must say that it has proven to be an excellent all around lens. For the most part I keep it at f5.6 for individual and small groups and at f8 for larger group shots. For people shots it is sharp enough and unlike my other lenses weighs less than a car battery.

Re: VR lenses with S2

I used a 24-120VR with my S2 and never felt like the extra expense really added much to the sharpness. But then I am one of many people who don't think that the S2 (mine at least) was all that sharp. As a consequence I have now bought a D2X and have my S2 for sale.
