DCS 520 shutter speed defaulting itself to 1/8000?

I have several 520's/D2000s and a 560 and recently a couple of them have been defaulting to 1/8000th on start up (We are usually in the Manual mode at 1/250th with a F16) We are a seasonal business so they sit for several months at a time. We shoot with the a/c adapter (no battery). Could this be related to the internal battery as we have lost the ability to keep the date on a number of the cameras as well. Any ideas or wisdom is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Mark mine do the same thing, also when I change the battery. I just have to remind my self to reset the shutter speed. I do think it is linked to the internal battrey but that is just my guess..Brian

Same here for me. You'll have to keep it on ac power continuously to prevent it.
