Fuji S1 and Epson 1270 mismatch

Does anyone have experience printing photos from the S1 on Epson's 1270? I occasionally get hard lines where I see gradual transitions on screen. Fuji says its an Epson problem, Epson isn't talking. I'm using the latest version of the 1270's driver. Might I need an earlier version? (And yes, a newer camera.)

Thanks, LKPix

Re: Fuji S1 and Epson 1270 mismatch

Have you tried printing other images using exactly the same settings as when you print S1 images. Is it a certain colour or all of them? Are you printing with any curves such Roark mono curves for MIS inks? Have you tried printing the S1 images onto a Frontier or something similar you get at a Walmat/K-mart etc?

I have an S2 and print inkjet all the time and have no problems.

Give us some more details and we might be able to help you.

Re: Fuji S1 and Epson 1270 mismatch

I used an S1 with a 1290 (which I believe is the UK version of the 1270) for a year with absolutely no problems.
What programme are you using to print from/through ? While there are newer and better cameras around than the S1 you will still get damned good pictures from it. I agree with Fuji- if it is taking the images so you can see them properly on your monitor, then there is some problem with drivers or print settings. Are you using the correct media settings in the printer driver? Have you run the head cleaning routine? Is your monitor profiled?

Lots of variables for you to check!
Colin.

I use an S2 and 1290 too but with monochrome inksets. The 1280 is the US version of the UK 1290. The 1270 was the predecessor and has a different driver and head to the 1280/1290. The printer must be in error, give us more details.
