SLRn takin\' some heat...

When I shoot tethered, my SLRn may be "on" for 4-7 hours sometimes. The only time it is off, is when I change batteries, or, more rarely, rest. I may use the AC/DC adapter and the problem is the same. My camera gets quite warm. Can someone in the "know", tell me if this is normal and if it is harmful to my SLRn and it's life line?

Re: SLRn takin\' some heat...

HI Carl
I don't know if it's normal, or if it does any harm, but my 14n certainly does the same if it's on for a long period shooting.

I'd guess it's nothing to worry about (I'm not worrying anyway).

Re: SLRn takin\' some heat...

I shoot tethered in two camera rooms and send files to a server. I turn off the camera and remove the firewire from the 14NX after I am finished photographing. I get nearly 15 sessions from a full battery charge with the 14NX and maybe three or four if I am lucky from a full 760 battery charge.

As we turn off the camera when its not in use it does not get hot. Why keep it on when you are not using it?
