Hitachi 4GB Microdirve

Creative has a MP3 player with a built in Hitachi 4GB microdrive. The player and the drive is cheaper than buying a I'm wondering if anyone has tried this in a S2? I know the Hitachi 1gb works.

I was recently told by a Fuji rep that the largest Microdrive you can use is 2gB.

Re: Hitachi 4GB Microdirve

I have a 4 GB MD in my S2 and it works very well. The counter does not keep the correct count, that is the only draw back.

Re: Hitachi 4GB Microdirve

Is it the Hitachi? Do you format Fat or Fat32? What happens to the counter?

Thanks
Ron

Re: Hitachi 4GB Microdirve

Ron:
Yes, it is a Hitachi drive.
To make a drive ready for the S2 (the drive from MuVo) you need:
1. Remove all partions (used by MuVO) and then create ONE new partition. Use a demo software found at: http://www.7tools.de
2. Format the drive using Windows XP, selecting FAT, make sure you do not select FAT 32. FAT, in XP, selects FAT 16 with 64 KB clusters.
When you use you new drive in the camera, the camera will display 22 2 or 19 2 and it will never change. I use 4256x2840 JPG for about 900 pictures or RAW for about 300.
