Fuji X-Pro1

Ok, so if we have been paying any attention, we all know about the X-Pro1.

The official Fuji X-Pro1 samples are revealing (there is good and bad there though) and there is a growing pool of images (mostly by Hugo Poon) in the Flickr Fuji X-Pro 1 by Fujifilm group pool. Hugo has also posted some fullsize originals OOC jpegs on Pbase.

Internet chatter has defined several possible flaws of the camera: Autofocus, Large Size, Price, Lack of built-in dioptre adjustment, Lack of zoom lenses at launch. None of these take away from the appeal of the possibilities of this camera for me with a new no-AA Filtered, non-bayer pattern 16MP sensor and a sweet range of prime lenses at launch.

A very interesting new entry to the market.

Thoughts?

Re: Fuji X-Pro1

The X-Pro1 is now on sale in Japan, and possibly other parts of Asia. (Hugo Poon is posting Hong Kong images taken in the last few days)

A Flickr search for X-Pro1 yields many images now. Most are test shots or snapshots however.

Yodobashi in Japan (it's a photo store) has a few images up (taken by employees).

Luminous Landscape has a bit of a sensor story "The Naked Sensor" by Sean Reid, covering AA-Free cameras including new D800E and the X-Pro1

So far, still liking this camera.

Re: Fuji X-Pro1

Talking to myself here, but the thread has over 140 views, so someone must be reading it...

Some rather good images and commentary here:

My first X-Pro1 image samples - Fuji X Forum

Still pre-release camera, but the poster 'flysurfer' has described the situation regarding the 18mm lens which has shown some soft images around the web, and also some interesting information about the camera. I guess he should, he's writing a book about it... His copy of the 18 looks to be ok though, and the samples posted by him are rather good.
