Top five rated DSLR'S

PC World rated the top five DSLR'S like this:
1. Olympus E-volt 510
2. Canon D40
3. Olympus E3
4. Nikon D300
5. Sony Alpha 700

This was taken from my MSN home page this morning. Seems like I have mostly the wrong cameras! Lower rated D300 is my main camera.

We Americans sure do love our top {N} lists, our best, our greatest, our winners. And we seem prepared to adopt any lie that leads us to one.

The Canon is 40D, not the other way around. Nikon would take exception to your numbering!

To think a camera as good as the 40D is rated second on such a list... That means the choices available to us consumers are absolutely wonderful indeed!

I wonder if Olympus is a regular advertiser in PC World? Surely, they must be tickled pink by such lofty placement!

Better go out and trade in my Canon 5D for the Olympus!

Re: Top five rated DSLR'S

It reminds me many, many years ago of the Consumer Reports "Best Buy" was a Miranda camera. It was a complete piece of sh*t and Miranda disappeared a few years later.

I saw 2 reports on the Yaris last week, one was the top 5 cars and one was the worst 5.

Their business is to make money on the public's stupidity. There's lots of that.

Re: Top five rated DSLR'S

Thanks Noel, glaring mistake. I like my 40D as well as you do. First thing I thought when seeing that article was WOW, somebody's gotta know something I don't. Second thought: how many people will go out and buy the E-volt 510 thinking they have the top edition of DSLR available?

No offense to Olympus users.
