Metaforumny

Hi, Drew,

Perhaps there should be a forum for questions about the forum (format, policies, features, etc.)

Or maybe there is one and I just couldn't find it!

In any case, I have a feature suggestion.

On most forums, if I include an image tag (to embed an image), and it turns out that it doesn't work right, then on a post-preview edit (or even on an after submission edit) the tag shows up just as entered, and can be checked and then edited to correct it.

Here, after putting up a post on preview, or after it is posted, (assuming that the tag brings up an image, maybe the wrong one) the image (not the tag) appears in the compose/edit window. That way, I can't find out what it says (why it it points to the wrong image, etc.)

I think it would be better to have this forum work the way I described above. Is that an option in the package?

Thanks.

There is a Full Member forum we have been using for this purpose.

What you are suggesting sounds good. I'm not sure vbulletin has this option right now.

However, if you use the photo gallery to host your images and link from there you might be able to better ensure you are linking from the right image.

After logging in you would simply click the "upload" button in the second row of the navbar and upload your image with whatever tags you like. Then you can go to that image anytime and find the direct links listed below the image. There is a little icon you click to see all of the link options.

Additionally, if you use the built in photo gallery you can just click the "add photos" button when making your post and you will see thumbnail previews of all your hosted gallery images. Please note that to see this link you will need to be in the "advanced" posting area (click "go advanced") if in the quick reply box.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

I'm sorry, I forgot about that.
